Supreme Court formulates guidelines for amendment of pleadings
A 2 (two) judge bench comprising of Justice Anirudha Bose and Justice J.B Pardiwala laid down guidelines to be kept in mind for amendment of pleadings under Order VI Rule 17 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908. The Supreme Court formulated the guidelines in an appeal against the judgment of Bombay High Court allowing amendment of pleadings in a suit for specific performance of a contract.
