We are thrilled to announce a significant expansion of our equity partnership at JSA, with the elevation of nine Retained Partners to Equity Partners, effective from 1st April 2025. This strategic promotion not only recognises the exceptional contributions and dedication of these individuals but also enhances our collective expertise and leadership within the firm.
With this elevation, JSA will increase its total equity partnership strength to 62 partners, contributing to an overall partner count of 154. This milestone reflects our commitment to fostering talent and driving growth as we continue to deliver outstanding service and value to our clients.

About JSA’s new Equity Partners:
Bir is a member of JSA’s Corporate and Finance practice. He specialises in mergers & acquisitions (both listed and unlisted) and private equity (both listed and unlisted). His practice covers diverse areas of corporate commercial law and exchange control law including advising on securities and exchange control aspects, mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, business transfers, joint ventures & takeovers, foreign investments, corporate/business structuring and restructuring and general commercial contracting.
Hormuz is a Partner in Disputes Practice Area with a specialization in white collar crimes, penal laws, cross-border crimes, criminal investigations and general corporate criminal disputes. He also has extensive knowledge in corporate litigation in India. Hormuz manages criminal and civil disputes pan India as well as provides advisory services on investigations by Government Authorities (such as CBI, EOW, DRI etc). Hormuz regularly appears in various Courts including criminal courts in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
Kartik’s key focus areas are mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital transactions. He has assisted clients from the inception of the deal, in providing structuring advise, negotiated transaction documents and helped in completion of the transaction. He leverages his extensive knowledge of deal making of nearly 15 years in helping clients with complex structuring issues and in navigating through intricate legal and regulatory issues pertaining to Indian laws.
Nand is a Partner in the Gurugram office of the firm. He specialises in Banking & Finance, with specific focus on general lending, external commercial borrowings, overseas direct investments, project finance, trade finance, shipping finance and real estate finance related transactions. He also advises banks, financial institutions and corporates on debt restructuring.
Prakriti specialises in mergers & cross border investments & acquisitions and private equity transactions. Her experience includes rendering advisory and structuring services on a variety of transactions including acquisitions of shares & business, private equity investments, joint ventures and corporate advisory.
Pratish focuses on financing transactions, trade finance, securitisation and financial regulatory advice. He advises on all kinds of debt transactions, debt instruments and structured finance products. He has advised clients on debt restructuring mechanisms including strategic debt restructuring, conversion of debt into equity and issues relating to enforcement of security interest.
Rajul specializes in General Corporate Commercial, Mergers & Acquisitions, Domestic & Cross Border Investments, Corporate Restructuring and Compliance, Employment and Anti-Corruption & Investigation. She has extensive experience in FDI investments, outbound investments, joint ventures, setting of business operations in India across various industry sectors such as FMCG, healthcare, infrastructure, ecommerce, energy, media, real estate and construction, technology, medical devices, IT/ITes, manufacturing, retail.
Rishabh specializes in corporate transaction advisory, including private equity fund-raises, and mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience with cross-border investments and sales, business transfers, and leveraged and structured acquisitions, at every stage of the growth cycle. His clients range from sovereign funds and private equity sponsors to multinational corporations and start-ups, across industry sectors.
Zain is a member of the firm’s corporate practice. His practice focuses on corporate governance, business structuring and restructuring, public procurements as well as mergers and acquisitions. He has represented domestic and foreign corporations in a variety of cross-border acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and other business combination transactions.
