Economic Survey and the outlook for the Roadways Sector
Ahead of the Union Budget for the financial year 2023-24, the Government of India on January 31, 2023 tabled the Economic Survey 2022-23 (“Economic Survey”).
The Economic Survey, while providing an overview of the performance of the Indian economy in 2022-23 and the road ahead in the upcoming financial year, has also summarized the initiatives taken by the Government of India in key sectors of the Indian economy (including that of the infrastructure sector) and the outcomes achieved. As a key part of the infrastructure sector, the Economic Survey focuses on the performance of the roadways sector and the achievements of the Government of India in the sector.
